We are almost done! I do believe this is the last newsletter. I will send something small and simple next Tuesday but this the last "regular" newsletter. Our field trip is tomorrow. Please remind them to wear a Grace shirt and comfortable walking shoes. They will need to bring a sack lunch, something that will not need to be heated, and a water bottle. They can also bring a small bag that they can carry their lunch, and water bottle in. It will be 83 degrees so I would recommend them bring a hat and wear sunscreen. The chaperones are Mr. Hayley and Mr. Murphy. If you would like to go on the field trip with us, you will need to meet us at the zoo. If you have any other questions feel free to email me.
On the last day of school the students will bring home their 4th grade summer reading assignment, their promotional certificate, map scores and report card. Throughout the last week of school, the students will start to clean out their desk and cubby. I would recommend sending something extra on Wednesday for them to bring stuff home. Math: We are still cruising along in our journey to wrap up math. This week we are focusing on addition, rounding, and multiplying multiples of 10. The students expressed that the things we are doing now are easy and they wish the school year had started out like this. Our math test will be Tuesday of the last week of school. Reading: We are wrapping up the reading curriculum by focusing on comparing and contrasting along with expository text. Those are two things we covered a lot this year, so the students were pretty glad that the last full week is simple. Our essential question has us discussing why it is important to respect animals and how if you learn about animals you will respect them more. We were pretty excited to read about more animals as it is a good lead way to our field trip tomorrow. IN grammar we are still focusing on adverbs but we are more so focusing on the adverbs that compare. Science: We are technically done with the chapter, but we still have a little more to discuss. Thursday and Friday we will review the field trip, and finish up the chapter. Throughout the chapter, we have created our study guide, but we will go through it and create a simpler guide for them as we move into the test. Important Dates:
